Actually, it did not, in case you did not notice.
Inspired by Symphony of Science (see below) I dug around for the videos containing the lyrics. One particular enlightning one I discovered in the process is this presentation by Brian Cox:

I say this again: Education was fashionable during the reign of Victoria and while the Space Race was going on (Steampunk-Atompunk). It has only recently become nerdy!
Getting and having an education is steampunk, believe it or not. Cogs are only skin deep, knowledge goes deeper, right down to the quantum level.
And: You can’t construct an airship without knowing how.
I am an anthropologist and in this capacity a minor scholar of the Cthulhu Mythos and H.P. Lovecraft. I am also quite obviously heavily into Steampunk and Dieselpunk and like travelling.
