Happy Birthday, J.R.R. Tolkien

If he would still be with us, J.R.R. Tolkien would celebrate his 120th birthday today.
Today, Tolkien ist best remembered as the author of The Lord of the Rings and related works. He was also a philologist of note.
Without the impact of The Lord of the Rings, Dungeon & Dragons would not exist. Role playing games may well not be popular today at all. This would also mean no Bards Tale (yes, I played it in the late 1980′s), no World of Warcraft and no Skyrim.
And without Skyrim, we would not have Malukah:
And this would be a real shame!
J.R.R. Tolkien’s influence on modern culture, especially leisure time activities and the economic sector catering to it, is immense. Few authors, not even, sadly, H.P. Lovecraft, can claim a similar impact.
Today, raise your glasses, or even better: Steins and horns, in memory of J.R.R Tolkien.
